Receiving LEED Certification basically means that 2 North Shore has been created from the ground up with the goal of making our community environment more sustainable, pure and enjoyable...and the United States Green Building Council took notice of us. Not only did we meet their basic requirements for LEED certification, we reached the next to highest level possible.
Many things we did to be LEED certified just made sense…we collect rainwater runoff and use it to water our landscaping (which happens to use all native, drought resistant plants), we recycled old beams from the warehouse that used to be onsite (which frame the background of this website you’re looking at), we have lots of windows which allow natural light to stream in (lowering our energy costs from lighting)…and so many other things.
